& Trips
Students go out and about into the community as much as possible. Not only do we offer an all-day excursion once a term, but students often go on mini-excursions. Hawthorn students have seen so much of what Singapore has to offer: Thezoo, Jurong Bird Park, the museums, Pulau Ubin, even the famous Thaipusam festival—Hawthorn students have seen it all.
Little India
Chinatown
Hawthorn’s English for Advanced Purposes class went on a cultural tour of Chinatown: They visited a pastry shop (and sampled the delicacies); a Hindu temple, a Chinese temple, and many other places. Arab Street
Recently, our intermediate students explored another fascinating area of Singapore: Arab Street. They ate middle Eastern food, learned about belly dancing, and had a great time checking out one of the most exotic areas in Singapore.
SPCA
Recently, Hawthorn students have been raising money for charity. In September, the classes of Jude Smith and Julian Manning raised over $350 dollars, which they gave to the SPCA. Students proudly gave the check to the charity, and then got to cuddle puppies and kittens.
Forest Adventure Bedok Reservoir Park
Students tackle the chellenging Monkey Trail at Bedok Reservoir
